Go for regular dental check-ups!

Go for regular dental check-ups!

Go for regular dental check-ups!

If you want to wear a healthy smile 365 days a year, you should go for regular dental check-ups, once every six months (usually). In this way, your dentist will be able to perfectly monitor your oral health and prevent the appearance of any disease that could affect you.

At Drs. Moreno-Montalvo Dental Clinic we always bet on the importance of a complete diagnosis as a way to prevent the appearance of any oral disease.

Did you know that general health is closely related to the condition of the oral cavity?

There are numerous pathologies that can appear (as we said before) or aggravate because of oral health. Incredible as it may seem, cardiovascular problems, autoimmune diseases or diabetes can be affected.

Accepting and recognizing the importance of this fact will allow us to become aware of the daily and not "sporadic" care of our smile.

How can we act, in addition to regular dental check-ups?

If you keep the following three recommendations under control, you will be ensuring the care your health deserves. So, take note!

  • Opt for a healthy diet:

A balanced diet is not only key to maintain physical fitness, it is also the only solution for our body to function properly 24 hours a day. Select foods where sugar or excess salt are not a problem. Also, if possible, abandon all processed and refined foods because they do not provide any real "nutrients". Diseases such as tooth decay are a direct result of these foods, much better to avoid them!

  • Do not maintain habits that go against your health:

Do you smoke or drink alcohol? Although both habits may be "morally" accepted in society, the truth is that your oral health is affected by every cigarette or glass of alcohol. Both because of the harmful components of the former, such as nicotine or tar, and because of the excess sugar in the latter.

  • Remember that dental hygiene should be part of your daily routine:

According to data from the White Paper on Oral Health prepared by the General Council of Dentists in 2020, only 41% of the adult population in Spain brushes their teeth 3 times a day. Do you think this is a high or low figure? From our point of view it is minimal if we compare it with the millions of inhabitants that our country has. Maybe establishing a dental hygiene routine is complicated at the beginning for whatever reason, but it is just a matter of adapting. Then you won't worry!

Remember that we are available to help you at any time, just contact us to make an appointment, we are waiting for you!
